about
Hello! And welcome to my practice. I offer counseling for children, adolescents, and adults in a nonjudgemental, strength based setting. Prior to my transition to private practice, I worked for approximately fifteen years in the non profit sector, in a range of clinical and community mental health settings. About a decade of this work was dedicated to helping victims of crime heal from trauma and loss, and this remains a strong focus of my practice today. In addition to my clinical work with survivors, I also became certified as a Rape Crisis and Crime Victims Advocate through the NYS Department of Health during this time, which allowed me to expand my work with clients outside of the therapy office. In this role, I fought for the rights of survivors of violence through individual advocacy, public policy change, and critical criminal justice reform. In 2015, in partnership with the Dutchess County District Attorney's Office, I cofounded one of the first and most comprehensive Courthouse Facility Dog programs in New York State. This groundbreaking program uses service trained dogs to comfort and heal victims of crime, and in some cases accompany testifying witnesses during trial.

Today, I bring this trauma focused, advocacy rich foundation to every aspect of my work both in and out of the office. Outside of my clinical practice, I continue to fight for the rights of survivors of violence through public advocacy, education, and professional consultation. I serve as Co-Chair for the

Dutchess County Coalition Against Sexual and Domestic Abuse, an organization that provides education and awareness on a range of topics related to gender based violence and community responses. I offer professional case consultation for therapists working with survivors of violence, lectures and trainings on trauma and interpersonal violence, and occasional written pieces for academic journals and books.
